After learning the artform of Suminagashi on my own during my Japanese post- bacc. I traveled to Japan and backpacked to meet Fukuda Sensei a Master of Suminagashi in a remote village known for their handmade washi paper. It was there I was inspired to make a series of prints reminiscent of those closest to me and was eventually shown at Multnomah Arts Center.
